Idemitsu funds ATOM-X, an e-methanol firm
Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. has made an investment in ATOM-x Inc. through its Corporate Venture Capital Group to support the development and commercialisation of ATOM-X’s innovative e-methanol technology.
The investment, announced on 8 May 2026, will enable both companies to collaborate on scaling up ATOM-X’s e-methanol production technology and accelerating its path to commercial deployment. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

FUCHS Silkolene has launched what it describes as the first mass-market, plant-based motorcycle engine oil with a net-zero carbon footprint—Silkolene PRO 4 5W-40.
Pronounced “zero,” the new product expands the brand’s fully synthetic PRO range and is formulated using 100% renewable, plant-derived synthetic base oils developed through the Advanced Circular Technology (ACT) by FUCHS Group. The oil meets key industry standards, including API SP/SQ and JASO MA2.

The joint venture between BP and ADNOC is investing $500 million to realize the Egyptian gas project
Arcius Energy, an affiliate of UK-based BP and UAE-based ADNOC through its investment arm XRG, has reached a final investment decision (FID) to develop a natural gas field offshore Egypt. Following the FID, Arcius Energy will move ahead with the development of the Harmattan gas field, located in the El Burg Offshore concession area. The project represents one of the company’s first major developments in Egypt, with an investment of approximately $500 million aimed at boosting natural gas production to support domestic demand.
