Mazda Motor Corporation and ENEOS Corporation are joining forces to highlight the potential of lower-carbon fuels by introducing ENEOS EARTH ONE (E20) in a motorsport event. The fuel contains 20% bioethanol derived from plant-based sources and will be used in around 20 Mazda Roadster cars.

The initiative will be featured at the 37th Media Roadster Endurance Race, scheduled for October 3–4, 2026, at Fuji Speedway in Oyama, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The race forms part of Mazda Fan Festa, an event dedicated to the automaker and its enthusiasts. Since its establishment in 1989, the competition has brought together media participants, with Mazda supporting it as a special sponsor from the beginning.

The event will also feature a team from the S-Taikyu Waigaya Club, comprising representatives from Toyota Motor Corporation, Subaru Corporation, Nissan Motor Corporation’s Nismo division, Honda Racing Corporation and Mazda. Their participation aims to demonstrate technologies and solutions that can contribute to carbon neutrality.

By deploying E20 in a competitive racing setting, Mazda and ENEOS aim to provide participants with practical experience of ethanol-blended fuels and increase awareness of their role in reducing carbon emissions. Both companies emphasise that achieving carbon neutrality will require multiple energy solutions suited to different regional circumstances and customer needs.
