Valvoline Global Operations has deepened its partnership with Mahindra Racing, officially stepping into the role of Official Partner. Announced during the Formula E World Championship season finale in London, England, the expanded alliance merges Valvoline’s 160-year background in lubricant innovation with cutting-edge electric mobility development.

Through the partnership, performance data collected under severe mechanical strain, extreme heat, and high-voltage conditions on the track directly informs the engineering of commercial fluids designed for everyday electric vehicles (EVs).

Michael Kirtman, Chief Brand Officer at Valvoline Global Operations, highlighted that remaining true to the brand’s heritage as "The Original Motor Oil" requires constant adaptation. He noted that Formula E offers an ideal environment to test next-generation technologies, allowing peak-load racing insights to be turned into consumer vehicle innovations.

Mahindra Racing Team Principal and CEO Frédéric Bertrand praised Valvoline as an essential technical contributor whose fluid-engineering capabilities enhance vehicle reliability and speed. He pointed to strong performances in Monaco and Tokyo as key benchmarks reflecting the team's overall progress this season.

Engineering Track Tech for the Road As Official Partner, Valvoline Global collaborates directly with Mahindra Racing’s engineering team to craft custom e-fluids aimed at boosting drivetrain efficiency and extended component durability. A jointly developed transmission fluid—rigorously tested in both lab settings and on the track—has been operational in Mahindra's race cars since May 2026.

This telemetry feedback loop creates what Valvoline calls a closed-loop development pipeline: every lap run on the circuit helps refine mass-market EV fluids to deliver race-grade reliability for everyday drivers.

Global Reach with Local Adaptations Operating across more than 140 countries, Valvoline Global uses the international motorsport platform to showcase its technology while reinforcing its presence in high-growth automotive markets.

Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director at Valvoline Cummins Pvt. Ltd., emphasized how this global racing effort feeds back into their local operations and engineering roots in India. By customizing race-tested fluid formulations for Indian vehicle portfolios, the nearly two-decade-long partnership continues to bring tangible commercial benefits to local vehicle manufacturers and daily drivers alike.
