Valvoline Global Operations is strengthening its presence across Asia Pacific through an expanded strategic partnership with Horse Powertrain and a separate long-term aftersales agreement with Geely Auto Group.

Horse Powertrain, a global powertrain solutions manufacturer and joint venture between Geely, Renault and Aramco, supplies automotive engines to Geely and other major automakers. Building on an existing factory-fill collaboration, the expanded partnership will extend Valvoline Global’s lubricant solutions across a wider vehicle service ecosystem.

In a separate agreement, Valvoline Global has entered into a long-term aftersales partnership with Geely Auto Group, one of China’s leading automakers, becoming its designated lubricant technology partner. Under the agreement, Valvoline Global will supply high-performance aftermarket lubricants for Geely vehicles and other brands operated under its parent company.

Together, the partnerships with Horse Powertrain and Geely will enable Valvoline Global to support vehicles throughout their lifecycle — from initial assembly and factory fill to aftermarket servicing.

Simon Hu, Chief Procurement Officer at Horse Powertrain, highlighted Valvoline Global’s technical expertise, global supply chain capabilities and commitment to next-generation mobility solutions. He said the collaboration will help deliver enhanced performance, durability and sustainability to customers.

Michael Dreyer, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific at Valvoline Global Operations, said the strengthened relationships with Horse Powertrain and Geely reflect the company’s broader strategy of becoming a technology partner for next-generation mobility. He emphasized Valvoline Global’s ability to provide OEM-endorsed lubricant solutions across both factory-fill and aftersales applications.

As part of its Geely agreement, Valvoline Global has introduced a range of co-engineered lubricants, including Valvoline Geely Ultra Full Synthetic Engine Oil and Valvoline Geely Full Synthetic Engine Oil. Developed in collaboration with Geely and validated through OEM testing, the formulations are designed to support fuel economy, engine efficiency, cleanliness and protection of critical engine components while meeting the powertrain specifications required by Horse Powertrain.

Valvoline Global also reinforced its technical credentials through its participation in the sixth International Summit of Automotive Propulsion Systems (ISAPS) in China, which brings together leading global automakers and academics to discuss developments in light-duty powertrain technologies.

Valvoline Global, described as America’s first branded motor oil, operates across more than 140 countries, with over 80,000 distribution points and 160 years of experience in the lubricant industry. The company is owned by Aramco.
