Vivo Energy has completed the acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, taking full ownership of the company and its network of approximately 180 service stations, along with its commercial fuels and lubricants business.
Vivo Energy has completed the acquisition of TotalEnergies Marketing Jordan, taking full ownership of the company and its network of approximately 180 service stations, along with its commercial fuels and lubricants business.
The acquisition marks Vivo Energy's first expansion beyond Africa, establishing its presence in the Middle East. Following the transaction, the company now operates around 4,200 service stations across 29 markets. The acquired business was previously Jordan's second-largest fuel retail network, behind state-owned market leader JoPetrol.
Vivo Energy initially announced the acquisition agreement in November 2025. The transaction received regulatory approval from Jordan's Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply on 12 February 2026 after a review by the Competition Directorate. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
As part of the integration, Vivo Energy will introduce its Engen fuel retail brand to Jordan, gradually replacing the TotalEnergies branding across the country's service station network over the coming months. Engen currently operates in 13 of Vivo Energy's markets and is South Africa's leading fuel brand, with more than 1,000 service stations supplying approximately one in every four litres of fuel sold in the country.
Stan Mittelman, Chief Executive Officer of Vivo Energy Group, described the acquisition as a significant milestone in the company's international growth strategy. He said the move extends Vivo Energy's footprint beyond Africa into a market with strong growth potential, adding that the company's customer-focused approach and Engen brand heritage provide a strong foundation for success in Jordan.
Adel Saadallah, the newly appointed Managing Director of Vivo Energy Jordan, said the acquisition represents a change in ownership while ensuring continuity for employees, dealers, and customers. He noted that the company's immediate priority is to work closely with the existing team to deliver a seamless transition and maintain high service standards.
Vivo Energy was formed from Shell's downstream operations in Africa and strengthened its regional presence through the acquisition of a controlling stake in Engen in 2024. The company employs approximately 6,000 people and operates fuel storage facilities with a combined capacity of more than 2.1 billion litres.
