TotalEnergies Marketing Asia-Pacific Middle East has introduced a new range of advanced engine oils that comply with the latest API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 standards. These innovative lubricants are designed to deliver greater fuel efficiency, enhanced engine protection, and extended vehicle lifespan, aligning with the evolving needs of modern automotive technologies.
The new lineup includes Quartz 9000 Future FGC 5W-30, Quartz 9000 Future GF-7 0W-20/5W-30, and Quartz 7000 Future GF-7 5W-30. Engineered for both turbocharged and gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines, the formulations also retain compatibility with older vehicle models, offering a versatile solution for drivers and service providers.
According to TotalEnergies, the newly formulated oils offer:
40% better protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI)
20% improved resistance to timing chain wear
7% better piston cleanliness compared to existing industry benchmarks
These performance upgrades help reduce maintenance costs and improve overall engine durability.
In terms of fuel economy, the oils deliver:
Up to 11% improvement over SAE XW-30 grades
Up to 16% gain compared to SAE XW-20, supporting reduced emissions and cleaner engine operation
Vincent Minard, Vice President of Lubricants, Specialties, and B2B at TotalEnergies Marketing Asia-Pacific Middle East, emphasized the brand's focus on technological leadership:
"These products are designed not only to meet but exceed current certification requirements, ensuring our customers benefit from superior vehicle performance and protection."
Production of the new lubricants is underway at five TotalEnergies blending plants in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, including its flagship facility in Singapore. Initial product rollouts began in April 2025 in South Korea and China, with plans to expand to over 40 countries across the region by the end of the year.
