Stellantis, a leading global automaker, and TotalEnergies Lubrifiants, a top manufacturer and marketer of lubricants worldwide, have introduced Quartz EV3R 10W-40, the first engine lubricant in Europe made entirely from regenerated oil. This product, part of Stellantis’ SUSTAINera RECYCLE range, underscores the company’s dedication to circular economy principles and environmental sustainability.
Developed through a strategic partnership, Quartz EV3R 10W-40 delivers the same performance as lubricants based on virgin oils while significantly reducing environmental impact. The lubricant decreases engine wear by up to 46% compared to industry standards and enhances piston cleanliness by 20%. Additionally, the product’s carbon footprint is up to 50% lower than previous generations.
The engine oil, suitable for both gasoline and diesel engines, meets the performance standards of various car manufacturers and is available across Europe. Its packaging, made from 50% recycled plastic, aligns with the eco-design principles of both companies.
Alison Jones, Senior Vice President of Global Circular Economy at Stellantis, emphasized the innovation’s alignment with Stellantis’ sustainability goals: “As part of Stellantis’ commitment to sustainability, this manufacturer-approved lubricant developed in partnership with TotalEnergies Lubrifiants exemplifies our innovation for a better future. As part of our SUSTAINera range of after-sales automotive products, it leverages circular economy principles, allowing automotive industry waste to be regenerated and reused.”
Pierre Duhot, Senior Vice President of Lubricants and Specialities at TotalEnergies, stated: “TotalEnergies Lubrifiants has a long-standing partnership with Stellantis. We are very proud to launch Quartz EV3R 10W-40, the first product in the Quartz EV3R range, in close collaboration with SUSTAINera. We are also confident about future developments following our recent acquisition of Tecoil, a Finnish company specializing in the production of high-quality re-refined base oils (RRBOs).
