Shell Lubricants has completed the full acquisition of Raj Petro Specialities Pvt. Ltd. from the Brenntag Group, strengthening its footprint in one of its key growth markets—India.
Finalized on 1 July 2025, this deal is set to boost Shell's capabilities in serving vital industrial sectors such as power transmission, personal care, and pharmaceuticals. Raj Petro’s complementary product range opens up new avenues for synergies and greater operational scale across the lubricants value chain.
Jason Wong, Executive Vice President of Global Lubricants at Shell, called the acquisition a strategic move aligned with Shell’s focus on driving performance, operational discipline, and business simplification.
With over 80 years of operations, Raj Petro supplies a wide portfolio of specialty products to industries like textiles, construction, transportation, and food processing. Its global reach extends to customers in around 100 countries.
This acquisition reinforces Shell's ongoing ambition to lead the global lubricants industry, where it has been ranked the No. 1 supplier of finished lubricants for 18 consecutive years, as reported by Kline & Company.
