Lubrizol has introduced Lubrizol AH933ZF, a zinc-free hydraulic fluid additive package engineered to deliver outstanding performance while reducing environmental impact in sensitive operating environments. The launch reinforces Lubrizol’s continued commitment to sustainable innovation in the global lubricants industry.

Designed to meet a broad range of OEM performance requirements, AH933ZF offers enhanced reliability for demanding industrial applications, including mining, forestry, marine, and construction.

The new additive enables lubricant manufacturers to develop high-performance, environmentally compliant fluids that improve efficiency and equipment durability. Its anti-wear formulation minimizes component wear, reducing downtime and extending machinery life—ultimately lowering total cost of ownership. Additionally, its superior oxidation resistance and thermal stability support longer oil drain intervals, enhancing overall productivity.

AH933ZF also improves hydraulic precision by enhancing air release and foam control, ensuring smoother and more consistent system operation. Its broad compatibility with Group II base oils provides formulators with greater flexibility, accelerating the development of ready-to-market lubricant formulations.

With increasing emphasis on sustainability, zinc-free hydraulic fluids are gaining traction globally. According to Kline & Company, demand for zinc-free fluids in North America and Europe is expected to grow at a CAGR of 4.25% between 2024 and 2029, while traditional zinc-based fluids are projected to decline by 0.43% over the same period.

Jared Cornett, Product Manager for Industrial Oils at Lubrizol, noted that AH933ZF proves how advanced chemistry can enable zinc-free hydraulic fluids to match or even outperform conventional zinc-based formulations in both protection and performance.
