IVECO and PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) have extended their commercial vehicle lubricant partnership for another five years, taking their collaboration through to 2032.
IVECO and PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) have extended their commercial vehicle lubricant partnership for another five years, taking their collaboration through to 2032.
The agreement continues a relationship that has lasted for more than 50 years and covers the exclusive supply and joint development of IVECO's URANIA engine oils and TUTELA technical fluids.
The two companies will continue working together on lubrication and fluid technologies tailored to the needs of IVECO's commercial vehicle range in Europe. The portfolio spans several key applications, including engine oils, transmission fluids, brake fluids and coolants.
The partnership combines IVECO's vehicle and powertrain expertise with PETRONAS' lubrication technology and research capabilities. Their long-running co-development programme has resulted in the IVECO URANIA and IVECO TUTELA ranges, which are officially recommended by IVECO for its vehicles.
Innovation remains a central part of the renewed agreement. One of the latest products to emerge from the collaboration is Urania Next 0W-16, a low-viscosity engine oil developed specifically for heavy-duty vehicles. According to the companies, the formulation can contribute to improved fuel economy, lower CO₂ emissions and longer service intervals, while being designed with Euro 7 requirements in mind.
Domenico Nucera, chief quality and operations officer at Iveco Group, said the extended agreement reflects the technical knowledge and experience built between the two companies over decades. He also highlighted their shared focus on vehicle performance, efficiency, reliability and sustainability.
The partnership will not be limited to product development. PETRONAS will also work more closely with the IVECO dealer network through targeted programmes intended to improve dealer engagement and increase customer awareness of officially approved IVECO lubricant products.

The agreement reinforces PETRONAS and IVECO's shared focus on delivering lubrication solutions that can help commercial vehicle operators improve uptime, manage operating costs and maintain reliable vehicle performance.
With the partnership now secured until 2032, both companies are set to continue developing lubricant technologies designed to support the evolving requirements of the commercial transport industry.
