Infineum and Kangtai, a Rianlon Corporation subsidiary, have taken their strategic collaboration a step further with a new distribution agreement covering Southern Asia. The agreement, signed on 22 July, builds on the strategic framework established between Infineum and Rianlon earlier in 2026.

The two companies initially formalised their strategic partnership on 20 January 2026. The agreement focuses on areas such as customer-focused solutions, advanced technology, cost efficiency and reliable supply. It followed the launch of Rianlon’s new R&D and manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia.

Under the latest distribution arrangement, Infineum’s distributors across Southern Asia will be able to offer selected Kangtai products alongside their existing portfolios. This will give customers access to a wider selection of lubricant additive and specialty chemical solutions.

For Kangtai, the partnership provides an opportunity to strengthen its footprint beyond China by leveraging Infineum’s established distribution network throughout the region. The arrangement is also expected to improve market access, customer responsiveness and regional reach.

Mavis Xian, general manager of Kangtai, highlighted Southern Asia’s importance to the company’s international expansion, noting that the collaboration will support faster growth outside China while enabling Kangtai to serve customers more effectively.

John Hong, sales director for Asia Pacific at Infineum, said the agreement will strengthen the capabilities of Infineum’s Southern Asian distributors by adding Kangtai’s components and industrial additives to their portfolios.

Chris Locke, executive vice president of sustainable transportation at Infineum, added that the expanded distribution relationship will give customers access to complementary products from both companies. He said the broader offering can help businesses across Southern Asia improve operational efficiency while supporting continued growth.
