Global Market Expansion
Honda aims to capture a 50% share of the global motorcycle market by 2030, including electric models. In India, the company is bolstering its presence with popular commuter models like the Activa, Dio, Shine, and SP, while enhancing production automation and local supplier partnerships. In Europe, Honda is expanding its FUN model lineup, including the CB, CBR, Africa Twin, and Rebel series, and has revived the Hornet and Transalp models.
Electrification and Carbon Neutrality Goals
Honda has set a target of carbon neutrality for all motorcycle products by the 2040s. The company plans to introduce 30 electric models globally by 2030 and achieve annual sales of 4 million electric motorcycles. Recent developments include the launch of the CUV e: and ICON e: models in Indonesia in October 2024, and the Activa e: and QC1 models in India in November 2024. Honda is also expanding battery swapping services through Honda e:Swap, starting in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and plans to open a dedicated electric motorcycle plant in India by 2028 to reduce costs and make EV ownership as affordable as petrol models.
Through these initiatives, Honda aims to lead the global motorcycle industry by combining cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and market expansion.
