Lubrizol has introduced a new high-performance lubricant, Lubrizol G03426, specifically developed for automated manual transmissions (AMTs) in heavy-duty trucks. The formulation is designed to enhance fuel efficiency, optimize shifting performance, and support long-term durability, contributing to smarter and more sustainable commercial transportation.

As China’s heavy-duty vehicle sector embraces intelligent technologies and stricter emission standards, AMTs are emerging as a preferred drivetrain option. They reduce driver fatigue, improve fuel economy, and integrate seamlessly with modern emission control systems, making them particularly suitable for long-haul and high-frequency delivery fleets.

Henry Liu, Vice President of Lubrizol Asia Pacific and Vice President of Lubrizol Additives APAC, highlighted that the growing adoption of AMTs reflects the industry’s demand for vehicles that balance comfort, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. He noted that this trend places heightened requirements on lubricant performance to ensure both operational efficiency and reliability.

Lubrizol G03426 leverages advanced base oils and an optimized additive system to provide precise viscosity control and excellent low-temperature pumpability, maintaining transmission efficiency under demanding conditions. The lubricant has been validated in mainstream AMT applications with oil drain intervals (ODI) exceeding 200,000 km and up to 300,000 km, offering strong protection against gear and synchronizer wear while improving friction response during shifts.

Engineered to support modern control mechanisms such as layshaft brakes (LSB), the fluid also delivers oxidative stability and seal compatibility, enabling extended drain intervals, reduced maintenance, and lower total cost of ownership.

“Our goal is to provide technology that ensures efficient and reliable AMT performance,” said Liu. “Lubrizol remains committed to collaborating closely with OEMs, transmission manufacturers, and lubricant marketers to deliver practical, proven solutions that meet the evolving needs of the commercial transportation industry.”
