FUCHS has further expanded its presence in China with the opening of a new specialty lubricant manufacturing facility in Wujiang, Suzhou. Inaugurated on July 16, the plant represents a significant investment in the company’s local production infrastructure and is designed to support the evolving requirements of China’s advanced manufacturing sector.

The inauguration brought together senior representatives from the Wujiang District government, the Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, FUCHS Group, and FUCHS China. The participation of local officials and company executives underlined the importance of the new facility to both FUCHS’s regional growth strategy and the development of high-value manufacturing in the area.
According to Dr. Jianqiang Qu, CEO of FUCHS China, the country remains a strategically important market for the global FUCHS Group. With the company having operated alongside China’s manufacturing sector for nearly four decades, FUCHS plans to further strengthen its relationships with government bodies, customers, and industrial partners.
Representatives of the Wujiang Economic and Technological Development Zone also recognized FUCHS’s contribution to the region since the company established its local operations in 2016. The company has since developed a strong presence in the high-end specialty lubricant segment, supporting industries that require increasingly sophisticated lubrication solutions.
The new plant forms part of the FUCHS Group’s FUCHS100 strategic program and is centered on two important areas of application: rotary motion and specialty lubrication solutions.
Technology is at the heart of the new manufacturing operation. The facility combines advanced automation, intelligent production systems, and environmentally responsible processes to create a more efficient and flexible manufacturing environment. Its equipment includes Siemens control technology and FANUC robotic systems, helping improve production accuracy, operational consistency, and product quality.
The plant has also been designed to address a growing demand for specialized products manufactured in smaller quantities. Its multi-product, small-batch capabilities allow FUCHS China to adjust production more efficiently and respond faster to specific customer requirements.
This added flexibility is particularly relevant as China’s manufacturing sector continues to move toward higher-value, smarter, and more technologically advanced production. By increasing local manufacturing capabilities, FUCHS aims to shorten response times, strengthen customer support, and provide specialty lubricant solutions closer to the markets they serve.
