Fuchs inaugurates new Americas Technology Center in Massachusetts

Fuchs Group, a global supplier of lubrication solutions, has inaugurated its new Americas Technology Center in Taunton, Massachusetts, U.S.A. The 55,000-square-foot research and development (R&D) facility, which opened on 10 August 2026, will serve as a centre for research, product development and technical support, with an emphasis on advanced lubrication technologies and speciality solutions for customers across the Americas.

The 55,000-square-foot research and development (R&D) facility, which opened on 10 August 2026, will serve as a centre for research, product development and technical support, with an emphasis on advanced lubrication technologies and speciality solutions for customers across the Americas.

The Mannheim, Germany-based company said the new centre represents a major investment in application-focused innovation, customer collaboration and manufacturing competitiveness in the region.

“Our customers are under constant pressure to improve performance, increase efficiency, and stay ahead of change,” said Megan O’Meara, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Fuchs Lubricants Co. She added that the facility will enable Fuchs to work more closely with customers, address their specific technical challenges and develop solutions designed to deliver measurable results.

The Taunton centre forms part of Fuchs’ global innovation network, linking regional expertise with scientists, engineers and customer-facing teams around the world. According to the company, this network will help speed up the development and commercialisation of new lubrication technologies while further strengthening customer cooperation throughout the Americas.

Timo Reister, deputy chairman of the executive board at Fuchs SE, described the facility as a strategic addition to the company’s worldwide R&D network and an important element of its Fuchs100 strategy. He said the centre will allow Fuchs to combine knowledge and expertise from different regions to accelerate innovation and create greater value for customers.

The facility will focus on lubrication solutions for a broad range of demanding industrial applications and emerging technologies. These include high-load industrial gearboxes, metalworking operations, semiconductor manufacturing and applications related to space exploration.

“Innovation is built on the ability to understand complex challenges, generate new knowledge, and validate solutions with scientific precision,” said Mathieu Boulandet, member of the executive board and chief technology officer of Fuchs SE.

Founded in 1931 as a family-owned business in Mannheim, Fuchs is the world’s largest independent supplier of lubrication solutions.
