FUCHS Lubricants Co., the world’s largest independent lubricant supplier headquartered in Germany, has formed a strategic partnership with KCF Technologies to combat machine failures through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and smart lubrication.

Founded in 2000 in Pennsylvania, USA, KCF Technologies specializes in machine health optimization. The company delivers wireless sensors, AI-driven analytics, and its SMARTdiagnostics® platform to monitor industrial equipment in real time, helping manufacturers prevent unplanned downtime and lower operating costs.

The collaboration brings together FUCHS’s expertise in high-performance lubricants with KCF’s advanced machine health platform for predictive maintenance and real-time monitoring. Together, the companies aim to minimize downtime, extend equipment life, and reduce operational expenses for manufacturers.

Kevin Vincent, Senior Vice President at KCF Technologies, emphasized that the partnership enables experts from both organizations to work more closely with customers, accelerating issue resolution and allowing manufacturers to focus on higher-level challenges.

Megan O’Meara, President of FUCHS North America, highlighted that merging FUCHS’s lubrication knowledge with KCF’s data-driven insights shifts customers from reactive to predictive maintenance—delivering a strategic advantage.

Both companies stressed that more than 60% of bearing failures are caused by poor or improper lubrication. By integrating diagnostic capabilities, remote vibration monitoring, and tailored lubrication strategies, the alliance offers a comprehensive solution to prevent equipment breakdowns.

Jeremy Frank, CEO of KCF Technologies, described the partnership as central to the company’s mission of eliminating unplanned downtime. Hendrik Noth, Vice President of Specialty Sales at FUCHS, added that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer success.

A recent pilot project with a global railcar component manufacturer demonstrated the value of this approach. Using KCF’s SMARTdiagnostics® platform, the team detected early signs of lubrication degradation, preventing a potential gearbox failure and helping the client adopt proactive, data-driven maintenance practices.
