Castrol has unveiled two innovative low-viscosity lubricants under its GTX brand, engineered to enhance the longevity and fuel efficiency of Renault engines. The newly launched formulations, Castrol GTX 0W-16 AN2022 and Castrol GTX 0W-20 RN17 FE, are specifically designed for the latest models of Renault and Dacia vehicles, offering cleaner engines and superior performance.

The Castrol GTX 0W-16 AN2022 is tailored to meet the stringent standards of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, particularly for Euro 7 compliant vehicles. In contrast, the Castrol GTX 0W-20 RN17 FE is crafted for Renault and Dacia vehicles equipped with petrol and diesel engines, complying with the RN17 FE specifications. Both lubricants feature Castrol's 3X Clean formula, which effectively prevents sludge buildup, ensuring prolonged engine cleanliness.

The Castrol GTX 0W-16 AN2022 is compatible with engines such as the 1.2 TCe Mild Hybrid and 1.2 TCe E-TECH Full Hybrid, which power the new Renault Austral.

The Castrol GTX 0W-20 RN17 FE lubricant adheres to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) C5 industry specification and is certified to the Renault RN17 FE standard. It is designed for select Renault and Dacia vehicles with petrol and diesel engines introduced since 2018, excluding RS and Alpine models. It’s important to note that the RN17 FE standard is not backward compatible with other Renault standards like RN0700, RN0710, RN0720, RN17, or RN17 RSA.

Compatible engines for the Castrol GTX 0W-20 RN17 FE include the 1.0 TCe in the Renault Clio V, Dacia Sandero II, Jogger, and Duster II; the 1.3 TCe in the Renault Clio V, Arkana, Austral, and Kadjar; and the 1.5 Blue dCi in the Renault Captur II, Megane IV, and the Dacia Duster II. This new lubricant is also suitable for the 1.3 DIG-T MHEV engine found in the Nissan Qashqai.
