Repsol Lubricants has acquired a 44% stake in Valtec Premium Lubricants SRL and established a joint venture with Valtec B.V. to accelerate growth across Central and Eastern Europe.
The transaction was completed following clearance from the Romanian competition authority. Through this partnership, Repsol will expand its lubricants footprint across 17 countries in the region, spanning from Poland and Czech Republic to Romania and southwards to Greece.

The transaction was completed following clearance from the Romanian competition authority. Through this partnership, Repsol will expand its lubricants footprint across 17 countries in the region, spanning from Poland and Czech Republic to Romania and southwards to Greece.
The newly formed entity will concentrate on premium automotive lubricants, including passenger car and motorcycle engine oils. It will also enhance spare parts distribution and B2B sales channels while improving logistics efficiency across the network.
The partners aim to double sales volumes within four years. Repsol noted that the alliance builds on a longstanding relationship, with Valtec having served as its exclusive distributor since 2008. Operating a logistics hub in Bucharest, Valtec currently supplies 17 countries and has grown its sales by 60% since 2021.
Clara Velasco, Director of Repsol Lubricants, stated that the agreement reinforces the company’s international expansion strategy and strengthens its proximity to professional and industrial customers in the region.
John Roskott, CEO of Valtec Premium Lubricants SRL, said the joint venture builds on years of collaboration and will support portfolio expansion while enhancing service levels throughout its 17-country distribution network.
