FUCHS Lubricants Co. has introduced RENOLIN FECC 10 SYN, the first immersion cooling fluid for electronics to earn UL 2417 certification, meeting rigorous standards for electrical safety and performance.
This premium single-phase synthetic coolant is designed for high-performance digital infrastructure such as servers, switchgear, capacitors, and high-speed data links. It delivers low flammability risk, excellent dielectric strength, and outstanding chip cooling efficiency, ensuring safe and reliable operation in direct contact with sensitive electronic components.
Formulated with advanced oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, RENOLIN FECC 10 SYN is built for long service life under heavy thermal loads and high-voltage conditions. Its low viscosity promotes efficient heat transfer, while a low pour point and strong pumpability make it suitable for extreme climates. The fluid contains negligible sulphur, nitrogen, and aromatics, is non-corrosive, and meets Open Compute Project (OCP) specifications for single-phase immersion coolants.
According to Brian Kinkade, New Market Development Manager at FUCHS Lubricants, securing UL 2417 certification gives the industry greater confidence in adopting immersion cooling by delivering the right balance of performance, safety, material compatibility, and cost-effectiveness.
The coolant is compatible with most elastomers, plastics, rubbers, and adhesives found in IT hardware, making it suitable for both new and retrofit applications in hyperscale data centres, crypto-mining operations, and other advanced computing environments. FUCHS will also provide global supply capabilities and comprehensive support services, including fluid management and regulatory compliance.
