Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has entered into a long-term Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a wholly owned subsidiary of ADNOC Gas. The 10-year agreement represents a significant step toward reinforcing India’s natural gas supply ecosystem.

Under the agreement, LNG supplies will be delivered to HPCL’s 5 million metric tonne per annum (MMTPA) LNG storage and regasification terminal at Chhara in Gujarat. The gas will be distributed across HPCL’s refinery operations and City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks, while also supporting critical sectors such as fertilizers, power generation, and petrochemicals.

The collaboration is expected to address India’s growing natural gas demand and enhance fuel source diversification. As one of the UAE’s leading integrated gas processing and marketing companies, ALNG will serve as HPCL’s long-term LNG supplier, further deepening energy ties between India and the United Arab Emirates.

HPCL stated that the agreement will play an important role in strengthening India’s energy security and aligns with the nation’s broader transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. The company reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring reliable and uninterrupted energy supplies for both domestic and industrial consumers.
