Its PERFORMA Super Synthetic 0W-20 formulation—powered by PTT’s proprietary Evotec technology—meets the latest passenger car engine oil specifications introduced by the American Petroleum Institute in March 2025.
According to Racha U-Thaichan, Senior Executive Vice-President for the lubricants business, securing these two API certifications demonstrates PTT’s strong competitiveness in the high-performance passenger car engine oil segment. He noted that the company aims to further strengthen its global market footprint.
Holding roughly 30% of Thailand’s lubricant market, PTT Lubricants continues to expand beyond Southeast Asia into Africa and the Middle East. The company already supplies products across all ASEAN countries and maintains long-standing collaborations, including its marine lubricants partnership with Total Lubmarine, which services ports worldwide.
Thailand produced 1.47 million vehicles in 2024, highlighting its status as a major automotive hub in Southeast Asia. Vehicle production reached 1.00 million units in the first nine months of 2025, showing resilience despite softer global demand. PTT Lubricants said the introduction of its API SQ-licensed product aligns with domestic OEM needs and supports the global shift toward more fuel-efficient engine technologies.
