Caterham and Motul have renewed their partnership, uniting Caterham’s lightweight sports car engineering with Motul’s more than 170 years of expertise in high-performance lubrication. The renewed collaboration will support both road and motorsport activities worldwide, including across the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the new long-term agreement, every Caterham Seven produced at the company’s headquarters in Dartford will be factory-filled with Motul lubricants. This applies across the full range, from the road-focused Seven 170 to all new race cars competing in the five Caterham Motorsport UK championships. Caterham said the decision reflects its confidence in Motul’s “liquid engineering” capabilities and the benefits of motorsport-tested lubrication technology in high-performance use.

Motul will also take on the role of title sponsor for the Caterham Seven Championship UK from the 2026 season. As the highest level of Caterham racing in Britain, the championship continues to attract drivers, teams, and fans from international markets, strengthening Caterham’s global motorsport presence.

Ali McColl, Global Head of Marketing at Caterham, said the renewed partnership aligns the brand with a leading name in lubricants and fluid technology, reinforcing Caterham’s commitment to performance in both road and race applications. He added that Motul’s focus on performance and efficiency supports a new phase of growth for Caterham Motorsport.

Carlo Savoca, Chief Marketing Officer at Motul Asia Pacific, said the collaboration showcases Motul’s engineering strength and deep motorsport heritage. He noted that shared values around performance, craftsmanship, and precision will shape Motul’s efforts to help unlock the full potential of Caterham cars and regional motorsport communities.

Motul is a long-established supplier to motorsport teams and OEMs and remains a prominent partner in global events such as the Dakar Rally, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and MotoGP.

Caterham Cars Ltd has been producing lightweight, two-seat sports cars since 1973, when Graham Nearn acquired the rights to the Seven from Colin Chapman. The company remains focused on driving enjoyment, offering highly personalised vehicles suited to both road and track use.

While long regarded as a niche automotive icon, Caterham’s activity heading into 2026 indicates a shift toward a more strategically relevant role in the global automotive sector, as the brand leverages its engineering heritage to bridge traditional performance motoring and the emerging electric era.
